For most people, a time will come when they’re expected to choose between employment and entrepreneurship. While the majority of young adults who find themselves in that situation will go the employment route, some few outliers will opt for entrepreneurship and wealth creation. Entrepreneurship will always be the more difficult and torrid path to take, but this fact will not be enough to deter those who are passionate and ambitious. Those were the factors that pushed The Cummins Cowgirl to deviate from her career as a mechanic and become a content creator, leveraging on her status as a social media sensation with a large following.

Chloe Yonker (popularly known on social media as The Cummins Cowgirl) is a heavy duty diesel mechanic turned content creator and entrepreneur. Chloe has over 350,000 followers and counting on her Instagram and over 3.2 million likes on TikTok, where she posts car content, wrenching videos, and her adventures. Raised in Michigan, she moved to Texas as fast as she could and is a graduate of West Texas A&M University.

When asked what separates her services from her competition, she said, “Personally,  I  donʼt  think  that  itʼs  about  being  competitive  with  what  I  do  because  at  the  end  of  the day,  Iʼm  friends  with  of  lot  of  the  people  I  work  with  or  alongside,  and  itʼs  awesome  that  we  can help  one  another  out  without  being  jealous or malicious  towards  one  another.”

She considers her brand special because even though it came from nothing and was basically born out of her desire to pay bills, at the level where she is now, she considers her moves a success because she has successfully built a business that can support her and her needs.

Noting that she doesn’t necessarily have a target audience per se, she says, “I want to be a positive influence on everyone, but I especially want to reach women and the younger generations to show them that you can be a female in a male dominated industry and succeed as well as showing young ones that being hands on and working on things is worthwhile and an amazing trade/skill to have.”

Though The Cummins Cowgirl is not quite where she wants to be, she believes that with hard work, no height is impossible to reach. She believes everyone can find a niche in something they are passionate about and find ways to monetize it. “For  me,  itʼs  been through  social  media.  I  market  everything there  and  now  that  I  have  a  larger  following,  Iʼm  able to  leverage  that  with  companies  to  advertise  for  them  as  well.”

On her plans for the future, she said, “I  would  love  to  be  able  to  have  a  full-time  automotive  customization  shop  open  to  the  public! Right  now,  I’ve  only  been  working  on  my  own  vehicles  and  close  friends,  but  I’d  love  to  make peopleʼs  dreams  a  reality  one  day.”
